Camera and me

Let's be clear.

I'm not a professional photographer.

Once a year I earn a cuppa for a photo.

So saving for a better camera

is not happening.

Being a mom of special needs children,

hasn't given me career opportunities,

(even though ...from shy to bitchy...

from naive to knowledgeable..

from student to chairman and initiator of

support organisations for patients and veterans

can be considered a kind of career too.)

Volunteering however doesn't pay bills

and certainly doesn't allow saving for a new camera.

I now need a small and light one

because of hand problems.

So I work with what's available.

It's a Sony CyberShot DSC-HX60,

a silver one. Even though it looks gold

when photographed with the phone.

(I used to have a faster camera.)

Nothing compared to those supersized,

multifunctional, impressive,

almost professional cameras.

But it creates memories.
